What you are actually paying for
A pure linen shirt in India often retails at ₹4,000 and up. Very little of that is fabric.
Most brands buy woven linen from a mill. That mill sells to a distributor, who sells to a label, who prices for a retail floor. Every step adds a margin. By the time the shirt reaches you, you are paying four businesses and wearing one shirt.
We are the mill. Tyra is the factory-direct outlet of Shree Krishna Fabrics in Surat, where the cloth is woven. We buy no fabric, pay no distributor, and sell through no retail floor. Same European flax, same weave, without the margins stacked on top.
That is the whole reason a 100% linen shirt here costs ₹2,300 to ₹4,000 instead of double.
Why 125 GSM matters in Indian heat
GSM means grams per square metre. It is the weight of the cloth, and it decides whether a shirt works in April.
Much of the linen shirting sold in India is woven heavier, which is comfortable in a European spring and punishing at 40°C. Ours is woven at 125 GSM: light enough that air moves through it, dense enough that it holds shape and stays opaque in sunlight.

How to tell real linen from a blend
A lot of what gets sold as linen in India is a blend. Linen-cotton, linen-viscose, linen-polyester, sometimes at a minority linen content and a full linen price.
Three quick checks. Real linen creases readily, and the crease has a soft edge rather than a hard fold. It feels cool and slightly dry against the skin, never slippery. And it is irregular under light, with visible slubs where the flax fibre varies in thickness.

Fit and care
Our shirts run in a relaxed tailored fit. Clean through the shoulder and chest with room to move, rather than the boxy resort cut most linen shirts default to.
Linen wants a cold machine wash on a gentle cycle and line drying in shade. It will crease. That is what the fibre does, and it is how you know it is real. A warm iron on the reverse handles it in a minute.
